Overlea Chapel United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; To develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participating in The Global Ministries of the Church.
The Overlea Chapel United Methodist Women meet at 12 noon on the third Wednesday of every month, except January, July and August. Bring a lunch and we will provide dessert and something to drink. At our June and December meetings we have a special luncheon.
Our main fundraiser is a chicken salad luncheon, held in May. With the profits from this and contributions from our members, we are able to send donations to many worthwhile organizations.
Overlea Chapel has included in its budget monies designated for our mission work. Over the years we have contributed to three mission projects through budgeted money, (1) Red Bird Mission, (2) Hispanic Ministries of Baltimore and (3) Children of Zion. Look for our new project schedule. It will include a mission project for each month showing that mission is more than just giving money.
